Inspired by the philosophies of Eckhart Tolle prompting awareness of where thoughts come from, I discovered that a lot of my thoughts aren’t my own, but regurgitations from elsewhere. The cerebellum is part of the brain where paradigms are rooted. These subconscious thoughts are formed in the growing years (ages 0-21), with strong influences from the home-environment, social situations, education, and religion. The frontal cortex is where peace, compassion, and joy reside, while memory, emotions, and intuition are located in the central regions of the brain. The external environments with peer pressure and media consumption are strong influencers of thought. There are more subtle influences from the spiritual environment. The heart is the emotional source that flows with positive and negative intentions that both receive and transmit information from thoughts.
So, have you taken the time to find the source of your thoughts? Do they really come from you?
