History
James Stugart was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. A born creator with an active imagination, he studied art from childhood and lives his life pursing and pushing his creative endeavors. He studied fine art at the University of Fairbanks, Alaska taking nearly every art course he could to expand his learning with various materials and techniques. This has led him towards sculpture and drawing. James 's hometown, Fairbanks, has the largest ice carving competition in the world. He fell in love with ice sculpture, moved to Portland, Oregon and started a business making ice sculptures.
However, creating art from the heart is his soul's desire. Making ice sculptures from client request brings its own rewarding challenges and is very enjoyable, but it usually doesn't satisfy the desire of the soul. So, to feed this desire, James has picked up a hobby of drawing an hour a day. This has been an incredible bump is life satisfaction. After a couple of years, he has built up a small body of work that he would love to share publicly. So, thank you for visiting, buy a print to enjoy, or ask a question.
